In my opinion, there are few things as beautiful as early morning light. Although I enjoy a good sleep, I enjoy even more the beauty of mornings. There may be nothing prettier. In law school after first moving to Seattle, I started a ritual during the tulip festival that involved a 4:30 departure north, with a cup of coffee (and maybe a donut!), to get to the tulip fields in time to catch sunrise. It was extraordinary the first time and every time, and the only year I missed that ritual was this past year.
Oh how I love a good excuse to be up early in the morning! (I also love an excuse for a donut, but I'm working on that).
On a recent adventure with my latest and greatest friend, we enjoyed a beautiful early morning walk through some gorgeous country (below).
Reminds me that I need to get up more often for first light, for even the slightest excuse!

I love the early morning light too. And donuts. Especially if they're from Top Pot. Is that where you get yours from? We don't have a Top Pot here and when I head towards Seattle I make sure that I stop at one.
