Guess what?! We're engaged! That's right. It happened on our Christmas Eve-eve (which is when we celebrated our Christmas together). He surprised me by taking me to the Suncadia Resort where we had a beautiful dinner at the Swiftwater Winery. They have fabulous food and a cozy setting, and it was a winter wonderland, so it was perfect!
We went on a late evening walk behind the lodge where we stayed, and under a dark sky, tall mountains, and above a whispering river, Phil asked me to be his life partner. I said yes and then somehow we ended up in the snow on the ground and it was all pretty funny and perfect at the same time.
Then we celebrated our first Christmas together in our suite in the lodge, with Goonies playing on the T.V. in the background and a fire cackling in the fireplace. :)
There is more exciting news coming involving actually tying the knot (!) but I'll leave that for another time. My head just might pop off in excitement.
What a way to ring in the new year!
